I invite you to take time and check out my blog. Some of the time, the things I post have value. The other times I just reflect on where my mind is at the moment and it is possible that anyone who reads it will wonder if I have a mind. Regardless of which time it is, one thing it does offer is a closer look into my heart and reason for my life.

"Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.”
Ephesians 6:18
On behalf of the people of Jackson Park Baptist Church... WELCOME to our website. I am delighted that you have chosen to drop by and check us out. As you make your way around the web site I hope you will find it helpful

As a church, we exist for the glory of God. We are a community of believers who live in a needy environment which has both problems and possibilities. The only way to deal with both ends of this spectrum is to fully rely on Jesus Christ. I also invite you to come and check us out on any Sunday or other times we meet during the week. The end result is the kingdom. So whether it is here or some place else, we pray that God would show  you where to commit yourself to His people in His service.

If you have never personally met Jesus, email me and let's talk.
Jon L. Estes became our pastor in January 2007. He is married to Pamela Estes from Dallas, TX. Both his boys are from Dallas as well. His boys have each brought wives into the family and have added a total  4 grandchildren to the family tree. Jon and Pam are encouraging them to add more.

Jon earned his MDiv from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and is planning on starting his doctoral work soon.

He has pastored and/or served on church staff in DE, NC, Nigeria, PA and TX. He has an extensive missions and evangelism background. For eight years while pastoring he taught churches across America FAITH Sunday School Evangelism Strategy for LifeWay. Jon has written articles for several church magazines and also some newspapers. Since Jon has been our pastor, we have expanded our mission reach to two other states and one other country. Two of our men have answered God's call to vocational ministry.
